Obikwu signed his first professional contract in July 2023.
Obikwu found the back of the net in City's first pre-season fixture against Forest Green Rovers, adding the fourth in a 4-0 win. The 19-year-old trained with the first team during pre-season, joining Mark Robins' side out in Portugal on tour.
Last season, Obikwu enjoyed a breakthrough campaign with the Under 21s side, featuring on a regular basis throughout the campaign and scoring goals, helping fire City to the Birmingham Senior Cup final.
