Jake Bidwell joined the Sky Blues in January 2022 on a three-and-a-half-year contract after three years with Swansea City.

Bidwell was raised in Southport and joined Everton's academy when he was 11 years-old. He was a Goalkeeper in his first two seasons with the club, before switching to left-back, working his way up to the club's U18 team.

Bidwell would make his senior debut for the Toffee’s in the 2008–09 season, making him the club’s youngest player to represent the club in European competition when he played against BATE Borisov in the Europa League.

Before joining Brentford on a permanent basis in 2013, he had two loan spells at Griffin Park. Jake left Brentford in 2016 after making over 200 appearances for the Bees, for whom he was selected in the PFA League One Team of the Year in 2013-14 and helped them achieve automatic promotion to the Championship.

Before heading to the Liberty Stadium, Bidwell joined QPR, where he featured 130 games.

Bidwell was a key player in Swansea's fourth-place finish in the Championship, appearing in both semi-final legs and the final, where Brentford defeated Swansea 2-0. He left Swansea for City on January 17, 2022, having made 92 appearances for the club and scoring three goals.

He is now a regular for the Sky Blues, having made the left-back position his own during the early rounds of the 2022/23 campaign.
