Aled Williams was appointed Head of Goalkeeping in May 2019.
In his role, Aled is responsible for the day-to-day development and training of the first-team goalkeepers, whilst also maintaining a clear pathway for the Academy goalkeepers to develop and push through to the first-team.
Welshman Aled joined the Sky Blues from Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he was the Under 23s Goalkeeping Coach.
A graduate of The University of Wales with a Bsc in Sports Coaching and UEFA A licence in outfield and goalkeeper coaching, Aled was a talented goalkeeper in his playing days.
Aled began his professional coaching career at Cardiff City. In 2009 Aled moved to The New York Red Bulls as Head of Goalkeeping for the Academy and Under 23 team.
He returned back to his hometown club Cardiff in 2013, working with the Under 23s and Academy, before joining Wolves' Category One Academy in 2015.
Further expanding his experience in youth development and senior football, while at Wolves Williams also coached with Wales Intermediate Squads and AFC Telford, before joining Mark Robins' staff at Ryton in 2019.
